Dallas Zoo

Parker and I took the girls to the Dallas Zoo Friday morning.  It was my first time to go.  Since I moved to Dallas 10 years ago I'd always heard the Fort Worth Zoo was better.  I guess they renovated the Dallas Zoo a couple years ago so we thought it was time we went.  I have to admit, it was pretty awesome.  It didn't seem as "zooish."  The animals were really active.  We saw giraffes and zebras running across this huge field and a rhino charge and pick up this fallen tree trunk.  Here are some pictures from our trip.

Penguins...

Parker, Bryn and Kate watching the Gorilla.  This was Bryn's 1st trip since she has started talking and knows the animals.  When we walked off she would say, "bye bye monkey, etc."

 Check out that tongue...

 Cheetah...

When we saw the Lions, Kate told Parker it was like "Lion King."

Kate wanted to pose by this statue...

 Flamingos..
 The rhino...

 Koala exhibit...
After we left I asked Kate what her favorite animal was.  She said the penguins and the flamingos.

Mr. Moore Retires!

"Mr. Moore" (my dad) is retiring at the end of this year.  He has taught 8th grade math for years at Caddo Middle Magnet in Shreveport.  He taught both me and my sister and is hands down the best math teacher there is!  His school threw him a retirement party so both Karen and I drove in for it.

Congratulations Dad!!!!

Saturday

We went to Sonic on Saturday for some ice cream.  Parker had to share his ice cream a little more than he expected.

This is from a birthday party.  They had a petting zoo in the backyard.  Brynlee cracked me up...she chased the duck around and loved petting the little goats, sheep, and pig.

Chihuly at the Arboretum

Parker and I got to attend a dinner at the Dallas Arboretum Friday night.  They have a new exhibit with Chihuly Glass.  It really is beautiful.

Dallas Skyline behind White Rock Lake...

We were there for the sunset and then got to see the glass lit up...

Mother's Day Tea - Kate

This morning was Kate's Mother's Day Tea.  She was so excited for me to come to her "tea party."

The kids got up and said their pledges, sang some songs, said the Lord's prayer, and said Psalm 139.  Kate half hid behind the bookshelf and half participated.  I think this is the first thing she has ever had an "audience" for.  At the end, she announced to the whole room, "My mommy calls me a stinker."  Awesome!

Mother's Day Tea - Brynlee

Bryn's Mother's Day Tea at CLC was this morning.  It was fun to hang out in Bryn's class with all her little friends and their mommies.  She was a little confused why Mommy was in her class and then was a little sad when I left.  I love her teachers and they love Bryn Bryn or Brynlee Sue as they call her.  I am pretty sure they spoil her and give her cookies almost any time she asks!  They keep me updated on everything she does and often stop by my room to tell me things she has said and or done.
