You know it has been a slow week when you are blogging about Diaper Sorting and Dog Wrestling...but this is our life...and this week has been slow. Well, not slow...it is never slow with 2 kids, maybe "uneventful" is a better word.
Brynlee has been sick all week with a cold which means not great naps, early mornings and lots of wanting to be held. But hopefully she is on the mend. So back to diaper sorting...(yes, Kate is still in diapers...don't judge). If you buy Pampers, you know all of their diapers have the Sesame Street characters on them. Kate always wants an Elmo diaper...not Ernie, not Big Bird, not Grover, and not Cookie Monster...ELMO. She digs through the stack until she finds an Elmo. As you can imagine, that is not a small or timely ordeal. When
Brynlee was born, I finally wised up and started sorting the diapers by character so there are NO choices. There are either Elmo diapers in the drawer, or Big Bird, etc. After the Elmo stack is gone, she tells me, "Mommy needs to buy more Elmo diapers" and then wears the other character without a fight. This has cut down our diaper changing time dramatically. So now, Kate loves to sort the diapers herself...
Sorting is serious business...
Pretty sure Bailey thinks diaper sorting is boring (you probably do too)...
But don't worry, after the diapers were properly sorted and put away, Bailey got some much needed attention...
Kate treats Bailey like another sister...
They wrestle and play all the time...
Bailey is the best dog ever...she takes a lot from Kate...
and when she has had enough, her go to move is to lick Kate until she surrenders...
And that sums up dog wrestling...
Kate, way to make even ordinary days so much fun. PaPaT and I enjoyed our visit with you so much. It is such a joy to hear you sing about Jesus. Love to our 2 1/2 year old granddaughter. JuJu and PaPaT
ReplyDeleteJanet, this blog is hilarious. Thanks for sharing even these "boring" times.
I love this. Diaper sorting...so clever on your behalf and such a big girl for Kate to sort those diapers. Impressed. And NOT judging about the "still wearing diapers". I'm mostly over it but still wonder why we're not there yet. Someday... :)
