4 year and 2 year appointments

Because the girls birthdays are 2 weeks apart, I schedule their yearly check-ups at the same time.  This is convenient and overwhelming at the same time...especially this year...the dreaded 4 year appt.  I had been warned by many of my mommy friends about how awful the 4 year appointment was...4 shots...ugh.  Without realizing it, I scheduled it on Columbus Day...which is a holiday for Parker...so I had reinforcements. 

We didn't break the news to Kate until this morning...no need for overnight anxiety.  She teared up a little when we told her she was going to the doctor, but then perked up and was a champ on the drive there.  She was awesome for the nurse who gave her a hearing test and vision test.  And she did great with Dr. Guetersloh.

Then the 2nd nurse came in...and she KNEW...SHOTS!!!  She wanted Brynlee to go first, but we encouraged her to go ahead and do hers first.  Parker had to hold her down (seriously, thank goodness he was there).  She only got 2 because they recently combined them...and she recovered pretty quickly.  By the time we walked out...with a sucker, 2 stickers and a pinwheel, she was fine.  All things considered, she was a CHAMP!!!!

Brynlee only got one shot, plus the flu shot.  She was a trooper too.  I think it helps that she has Kate to watch.  She is great at the doctor!!!

So here are the girls stats.  They both had BIG growth spurts...

Kate:  4 years
48 lbs (>97%). 
44 3/4 inches (>97%)   Dr. Guetersloh is still predicting she will be over 6 feet tall.
Kate's hearing was great and her vision was 20/20.

Brynlee:  2 years
29 lbs 4 oz (87%)
36 inches (94%)   She grew over 4 inches in 6 months.  Looks like she will be around 6 feet too.
Oh, and Brynlee has all her teeth now.  The top 2 molars are in and the bottom 2 are broken through.
