Kate's 1st Baseball Game

We have been wanting to go to a Texas Rangers game but weren't quite sure how to do it with a baby (whose bedtime is usually around 7:00 pm). Well, Parker called me yesterday at lunch and said that our friends the Kampens were going to the game and they had 2 extra tickets. They were going to take their daughter Mackenzie (who is almost 2) so we thought this would be the perfect time to try taking Kate to a baseball game. For July in Texas, the weather was a PERFECT 80-something degrees with a breeze! We were only expecting for the kids to last 3 innings max, but they both did amazingly well. We lasted a full six innings...thanks mostly to a whole container of puffs and dippin' dots ice cream!

Walking to our seats we had a great view of the new Dallas Cowboys stadium.

We got Kate a pink Josh Hamilton t-shirt....

10 months

Kate is 10 months old today. This is such a fun age. I feel like she is doing "new stuff" everyday. Today she waved to a lady at another table at lunch. We bought Kate a new toy this weekend. It is a walker, but you can also lock the wheels and play with the toys on top. She immediately pulled up on it.

Checking out the new toy with Daddy...
Looks like somebody else is interested in the new toy...

As soon as Kate got distracted, guess who had to see what all the fuss was about....

Kate decides she wants her toy back!!!

Shreveport

Kate and I just got home from a few nights in Shreveport. We had a great time hanging out with PaPa T and JuJu. Here are a few pics from our trip.

JuJu made chicken and rice for Kate. It was Kate's first time to eat chicken not pureed. She loved it!
My parents were keeping my cousin Amber's dog, Remington. Kate loved watching him play in the backyard.
In Kate's almost 10 months on this earth she has received a ridiculous amount of toys....had we known that she would have been so satisfied w/ links that are attached to her car seat we could have saved ourselves and everyone else a lot of money!!! Note her toy of choice below...

Thanks JuJu and PaPa T for a great few days in Shreveport. We had so much fun!

Going to Great Grandma's House

This afternoon we took Kate to visit Mamma Flowers (my mom's mom). She lives in Shreveport not too far from my parents house. This is the same house my mom grew up in and we grew up celebrating birthdays here, opening Christmas gifts, and eating black-eyed peas on New Years Day. I have so many memories from this house from growing up, so it was fun to watch Kate crawl and play.

And this is my favorite part...Mamma's backyard and the BIG RED BARN. We grew up riding horses and going on wagon rides back here (my mom was rodeo queen in high school:)). Too bad I didn't pack Kate's pink cowgirl boots...maybe next time.
