To-Do's

There have been several things on the "to-do" list that got pushed back because of our move and the holidays. But it's time...it's been time...to make some cuts.....

That's right...the paci has been severed from the Wubbanub. Bryn's response when I handed her just the dog was, "uh-oh."
And we have moved to only getting the paci while in the crib (we had gotten really lax on this with the move and all Bryn's ear infections).

As you can see, Bryn is not thrilled with these new regulations....
She stands and begs "Paci" at the crib...
Settling for the Cabbage Patch doll's paci...momentarily...
Also on the "to do" list was upgrading car seats for everyone...
Bryn has inherited Kate's front facing car seat
And is liking her new view...
And Kate has promoted to the booster seat which she is thrilled about. She loves using the seatbelt just like Mommy and Daddy!

Bryn and the Spoon

Bryn has started trying to take the spoon out of my hand when I feed her oatmeal so I guess it is time to start letting her try to do it herself...
After a few attempts, this usually happens...
It's a start...

Pajama Day

Tuesday was Pajama Day for Kate's class. She has been talking about this for over a week. She was so excited to wear PJs...more specifically her Panda Pajamas...to school.

Look at my Panda bear...
It was pretty cute seeing all her friends at school in their pjs...

Frank's 20th

On Saturday, we drove to Shreveport to celebrate one of my favorite people...or one of my favorite families. Frank Gunn and his family moved to Shreveport 20 years ago. I was in 7th grade (1992) and he was our new youth minister. In 9th grade (1994), his wife Lydia started discipling me and continued to do so until I graduated high school in 1997. In 1999, I interned for the youth ministry and Frank was my boss. I came back and interned again after I graduated from college (2001). In 2005, Frank officiated our wedding ceremony. I've been in Dallas for almost 10 years and we still visit the Gunns almost every time we go see my parents. I love this family.

This past weekend was Frank's 20th anniversary at Broadmoor...so we went to Shreveport to honor him at his reception. What a great legacy of ministry Frank has and will continue to have at my home church.

We had a sweet time honoring Frank sharing how Frank's ministry shaped who we are...and taking "stache" pictures in honor of Frank...

The Gunn Family...Annalise, Frank, Lydia, Mary Lindsay and Slater...(we missed you little Frank)
The Hamilton Family...
Happy 20th Anniversary Frank!!!

Family Movie Night

Last week we had our first family movie night. We let the girls stay up a little late, eat popcorn and watch a movie. We rented Cinderella. Both girls loved the "late night" snack...

As you can tell by the pictures, Bryn had her back to the movie almost the whole time. I don't think she even noticed there was a movie. Kate on the other hand was all in. She LOVED it.

"Belle Movie"

Beauty and the Beast is the first real movie Kate sat through on DVD. She has a Belle dress and Quinn got her a Belle doll for Christmas.

Kate watching "Belle Movie" with her Belle doll. Kate has never been one to want to take toys out of the house, but Belle goes almost everywhere with us...even if she ends up in my purse. Kate makes sure she is with us...
So when we saw Beauty and the Beast was coming back to theaters, we thought it would be the perfect "date" with Kate. Since Parker got to take her to Lion King, I got to take her to see Belle!
Outside the theater...in her Belle dress...
We made it though the whole movie. When we left she said, "That movie was soooooo good!" I asked her what her favorite part was and she said, "The plates and cups, and (Beast) turning into a boy were my favorite."
Mommy and Kate after the movie...
Bryn wanted in the pic too!

One Tired Girl

The day after 15 month shots plus no nap at CLC equals falling asleep on the way home, sucker in hand. I got her out of the carseat and all the way up the stairs before she opened her eyes.

One Tired Girl!

Dot Markers

Kate had some fun with her Dot Markers this week. She is loving me pulling out things she hasn't played with in months!
And I had some fun playing with my camera...
I love that Kate loves a "project," as she calls them!

Conversations with Kate

Me: Kate, what was your bible story at church today?
Kate: 2 men got baptized
Me: oh, when John baptized Jesus?
Kate: Yea, what was your bible story Mommy?
Me: we learned when we make bad choices, God forgives us. He gives us grace...
Kate (interrupting): oh, Grace is in my class at church.

15 months - Bryn

Bryn is 15 months old. I feel like she has changed so much in the past 3 months. First, she is walking everywhere. She rarely crawls anymore. Second, her vocabulary has taken off. She talks all the time, and not just babbling. She says words. You can tell she has picked most of them up from hearing Kate talk all day long. She says "Belle" (Kate loves Beauty and the Beast and got a Belle doll for Christmas), Elmo, cookie, cracker, milk, water, sit, block, stairs, no-no-no,etc. She also says the phrase, "there you go" but she says it more like one word "theryago." She says it when she wants something. She will hold out her hand and say "theryago" wanting you to give her food or a toy. At night, before we put her to bed she asks for a "gook." She loves books just like Kate. She is still a cuddler, especially before naps and bedtime. She loves to give hugs and kisses. When she wants a kiss she leans in and says, "mmmm." She is a feisty little thing. She can hold her own with Kate. She may or may not have a bad habit of biting when she is not getting her way. We are working on that. She loves Bailey or "Bay-yee" as she calls her. And she is a Daddy's girl! She says Daddy all day long and gets so excited when he comes home from work. She also loves all things Kate...including her boots!
We love you Sweet Bryn! Happy 15 months!

Legos

Kate got her first box of Lego's for Christmas...from Cooper (who loves Lego's)! It has been her favorite thing and mostly what she wants to play with. We've made the picture on the box probably 100 times. The other day, she took the box and went in Bryn's room so she could play by herself. (We have nicknamed Bryn the Lego Massacre because she loves to tear down all construction progress...which doesn't go over well with Kate.) I went to check on her and found this. She made a table with food and chairs for the boy and girl all by herself.

So fun to watch her little imagination at work!
