Beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

It is beginning to look a lot (or at least a little) like Christmas at the Hamilton house.

Brynlee in her gingerbread shirt...
This is a picture of Kate in the same shirt 2 years ago...

Brynlee was ready to take a nap...so these are the best pics we got of the girls together...

Kate putting the "Happy Birthday Jesus" ornament on the tree...

Kate decorating her own tree for her room...

The problem with letting Kate help decorate is she wants to do it "again" which means she decorates, then undecorates and then wants to redecorate...which is very unproductive for me. I had to just relax and let her do it her way and then finish once she was in bed.

Here is Kate decorating her tree for the third time...

The "final" product...

Thanksgiving in Shreveport

We spent Thanksgiving in Shreveport at my parents house. Here are a few random pics from our trip...

My mom and dad set up this outside play area for the kids. Kate loved it.

Jonathan and Emma...it was a little cold outside...

Kate climbed her first tree with the help of my cousins Amber and Micah...

Kate only liked the goldfish...Amber was sweet and picked all of them out for her...

We had a great Thanksgiving. Thanks JuJu and PaPa T for making it a great week!

A Day in the Life...

I should start this post by saying I really do love my life right now. I love staying home. I love both my girls. I love the stages they are both in right now. BUT some, or most, days are CRAZY. I was telling Parker the other day that some days I feel busy all day but look back and don't feel like anything major got accomplished except getting both girls fed, diapers changed, clothes changed, and me showered and "dressed" (usually a t-shirt and athletic shorts). I know all this is normal...and we are just still transitioning and getting into a routine.

Well, today was exceptionally crazy. So for all of you who wonder why I hardly ever answer my phone or why I return texts 4 hours later...here is a small glimpse at a day in the life of the Hamiltons...

This morning started with a bang! I laid Brynlee on the floor next to Kate so I could change Kate's diaper. I noticed that her feet were freezing so I grabbed some socks for her to put on. She did not want those socks and started throwing a fit, accidentally kicking Brynlee in the head. Both girls are crying...Accident #1.

Later, I was feeding Brynlee on Kate's bed while Kate was reading books. Kate came over to sit on my legs and jump on me (which she does all the time) and lost her balance and knocked her teeth in the back of Brynlee's head. Both girls are crying...Accident #2.

Tonight, I was putting Kate to bed (Parker is with clients at the Mavericks game). Instead of getting under the sheets and blanket, she got up to do one last jump between the pillows and hits her face on the bed frame. Kate is screaming...Accident #3.

Kate with the boo boo bunny...

"Hurts"
She hit the bedframe on the bridge right between her eyes...it is already swollen and bruised.
"Right here." Showing Mommy where she hit afterwards.

I had to put Brynlee down really fast when it happened. Thank goodness she is so laid back. She just hung out in Kate's bed...

6 weeks

Our sweet girl is 6 weeks old today.

This is the outfit she wore home from the hospital...definitely fits her better now.
She is not smiling yet, but I think she is close.
She is my little spitter-upper. She usually goes through 3-4 outfits a day...which means usually I do too:).
Her hair is a little crazy. If you look close in this picture you can tell...the front is short but the hair in the middle of her head stands straight up. Not sure what to do with that...
She has the "Hamilton cheeks..." just like Kate and her daddy.
Happy 6 weeks Bryn...

CC and PaPa Lon visit

CC and Papa Lon came in town this week to see their girls!

Getting everyone to smile and look at the same camera is impossible...

Kate loves looking out her window. She loves to tell me everything she sees outside...bird, sun, daddy mow grass, car, fire hydrant, etc. She also loves waiting for people to come and then watching them leave. Today, as soon as CC, Papa Lon and Ginny walked out the front door to leave, she ran to the window to watch them drive off...

She stood there for about 5 minutes saying "bye bye CC, bye bye Papa Lon, bye bye Ginny...see CC later, see Papa Lon later, see Ginny later..."
Thanks for coming to visit! Love you guys!

Little Indian Girl

Kate always makes cute crafts at school. I love picking her up on Tuesdays and seeing what she has made. Her class paints almost every week and I think it might be her favorite thing about school. Well, this week I picked her up and she was wearing her craft. She was soooo cute...

Our little indian...
in her pillowcase dress...

She loved it so much. She wouldn't take it off til it was time to go to bed (including when we went out to eat for dinner.)

5 weeks

Brynlee is 5 weeks old today. We had her one month appt this morning. She is doing great. She gained exactly 2 lbs in 3 weeks.

One month stats:
Weight: 10 lbs 1 oz (75-90%)
Height: 21 3/4 inches (75-90%)
Head: 14 1/2 (50-60%)

I guess the appt wore her out because when we got home I laid her in the crib just for a minute and came back and she was out. Normally I swaddle her for naps, so I thought she looked really cute just sleeping "free."

And Parker gave Brynlee her 1st bottle tonight. She took it no problem!

The Princess and the Frog

The Princess...

and The Frog...

Thanks Jeanie and Opal for the new bath towels!

Po-ark

I took the girls to the park (or as Kate calls it the "po-ark") this afternoon. Kate finally loves the slides and playground more than the swing. She is definitely getting more courageous...which sometimes makes me a little nervous...

Some pics from our outing...
Why do all kids love climbing up the slide???
When she didn't make it all the way up, she would just slide down on her tummy...

Climbing up the fake rocks...
Just proof Brynlee was there...

Watching the older kids play...
Going down the big slide...she loved it...can you tell?

On the way home she called daddy to tell him everything she did at the park. Her conversation went alot like this...weeamma (made up words) slide, weammama climb, weammanea swing, weamama slide in mommys lap, weammaa po-ark.
