Cowgirl Kate

This year for Halloween Kate was a Cowgirl.

Thursday night one of Parker's coworkers invited us to a dinner and hayride at their country club. Here is a picture of us with our little cowgirl...

Tonight we took Cowgirl Kate up to Prestonwood's Fall Festival.

Forward Facing

After turning one year and being over 20 lbs, your child no longer has to ride rear-facing in the car. Well, Kate is 13 months now and WELL over 20 lbs. She has lengthwise outgrown her carseat. Her poor little feet have been dangling over the edge onto the back of the seat. But we (I) have been hesitant to turn her around because she is so great in the car. Why mess up a good thing???

Well, today was the big day! Her first day to ride forward-facing! For the first trip, we just went less than a mile to Sonic.

Kate kicked and squealed the first 5 minutes. I guess she thought it was funny to be able to see me!!! I have a video of it, but for some reason I couldn't get it to upload on blogger. I might try again later...

Orange Meal

Last week at my MOMS Bible Study (after the lesson on Abigail) we talked about the importance of family and holiday traditions. They gave us a ton of great ideas...some spiritual, some sentimental, and some just for FUN! One of the ideas for Halloween was to cook an "Orange Meal." So today Harper and Sarah Sherman came over for Jack O'Lantern Quesadillas.

NOT Walking

The "million dollar" question right now is, "Is Kate walking yet?" The answer is no. As of Friday, she started standing up the in the middle of the room (meaning she didn't pull up on something and then let go). But I would say she is still a few weeks away from walking. She still likes to have something to hold on to just in case.

Weekend Update

I am Kate Hamilton and this is the weekend update...
Here are this weekend's top stories.

On Friday, my friend Mackenzie had her 2 year old birthday party. It was so fun.

On Saturday, Oklahoma played Texas at the Cotton Bowl. My daddy was lucky enough to get FREE tickets so Mommy and I got Chick-fil-A and ate lunch at the house and watched the game!
HOW IS THAT PASS INTERFERENCE???
I was so sad when Sam Bradford got hurt...

So frustrated with the game...

Saturday after the game, another friend Holice, had his 2 year old party. Mommy didn't get a picture of the birthday boy. But here are a few pictures from the bubble party!

Daddy got home from the game just in time to help me get a bath!

Oklahoma Weekend

Parker and I took a little weekend getaway to Oklahoma. It was my 1st OU game. They played Baylor in Norman. We had great seats on the 6th row at the 20 yard line. We had perfect football weather too...sunny and high 50s!

Here are some pictures from the game:

Those are the only pics I took all weekend. Saturday night we went to OKC's Bricktown. We had a great weekend away...sleeping in and just hanging out.
Thanks JuJu for keeping Kate for the weekend!!!

Pumpkin Farm

I love fall and pumpkins...and I have what Parker calls "romantic ideas" of family things to do. I heard about this great pumpkin farm about 20 miles north of where we live and thought it would be a fun place to take Kate. My mom is in town for the weekend so I thought it would be a good time to go. Kate is a little young and I know that she didn't fully know what was going on...and she won't remember...but we had a fun day.

So here are some pics from the Big Orange Pumpkin Farm in Celina, TX. It is a real pumpkin farm (not just a "patch") but it also has a petting zoo and hayride. And you get to take a small pumpkin home when you leave.

Feeding the goats
Kate actually put feed in her hands and let the goats lick it out. She was a trooper even though she was a little unsure...
Feeding the longhorn...

Kate is not sure what to think about the sheep...they were pretty aggresive...
