Moore Family Weekend

We spent this past weekend with my (Janet's) family. Our days pretty much looked like this...eat breakfast, play inside, swim, eat lunch, nap, swim, play inside, eat dinner and go to bed.

Here are some pics from our weekend...

Kate learning to "jump" to daddy in the pool...
(On another note, Parker is not wearing a shirt in the pool....he just plays way too much golf.)

Bailey wanted in on the action...
Little Swimmers: Emma and Kate...

Kate loved sitting on this raft...

Bailey liked it too...

Sliding with PaPa T...

"Up and Down" on Daddy...

JuJu and PaPa T taking the kids on a stroll...

We did take one outing to the zoo...Kate talked more this time. She told every animal "bye-bye" as we walked past. She was still nervous around the gorillas and would not let go of daddy's arm.

Thanks for a great weekend JuJu and PaPa T...

ROUGH DAY!

Whew...it has been a rough two days at our house. It all started yesterday morning. When I got Kate up yesterday I could tell she didn't feel good. She didn't drink much of her milk and only ate about 1/4 of her oatmeal...THIS IS NOT NORMAL. She would occasionally hold her tummy, but other than that she was acting normal...smiling, asking to read books, etc. We were sitting in her room doing a puzzle and it happened...Kate threw up. This was a first for us. Fortunately, Kate has never really been sick (besides having a cold). She was pretty calm...she was just really confused and wanted a rag. This child HATES to be dirty. I called our dr. and they said to just keep her on a bland diet for 24 hours and watch her.
She acted pretty normal the rest of the day, except she barely ate. I made chicken and rice soup, which she wouldn't eat. The only thing I could get her to eat all day were goldfish. Until dinner...she wanted blueberries. I only gave her a few but she asked for more. I figured she must feel better, so I gave her more and she ate them all. BIG MISTAKE!!!
This morning I heard her in the monitor saying something. Usually she wakes up babbling, but I could tell she was saying the same word over and over. The word was "dirty." I walked in her room to the saddest sight. She, her bed, and lambie were covered in blueberries. It took me a minute to figure out what happened. And I still have no idea what time she threw up because I never heard anything in the monitor. I felt terrible. It was so bad I had to take a few pictures...it doesn't look like throw up. It looks like dried blueberries and spilled grape juice. And these pictures don't even really do it justice.

Here is Kate drinking pedialyte...once again, she was acting normal. Look at those pajamas...YUCK!
And I apologize for the bed head...that was the least of my worries...
The other side...notice lambie is covered too. Good thing he is machine washable (and we have a back-up, which we needed today!)

Here is the crib...

You can't really tell just how bad it was, but you get the idea.
I am really posting these pictures for my mom. After I got Kate changed and situated, I called my mom asking how to get this out. My mom is the master of getting any stain out of clothes...seriously, she is the best. (I think this is because my dad is the master spiller and ruiner of clothes, thanks to pens, gum, etc. left in his pockets). She has had LOTS of practice!!! After literally 3 washes, 2 different detergents, 2 different stain removers, and 10+ phone calls to mom, I think I got all the blueberry stain out.

Baby Dolls

Today while I was on the phone, Kate was playing the in kitchen but I wasn't really paying that close of attention to what she was doing. I looked down to see this...

Kate giving her baby doll some of her juice...

It was so sweet to watch her play with her baby dolls...

Giving the doll a hug...

I got some of her baby blankets out and she was so cute putting the dolls to sleep with the blankets on top...

Putting lipstick on the dolls...

I know this is just the beginning of her little imagination at work. It is so fun to watch her play by herself. I love this little girl!!!

Papa Lon and CC's house

Kate and I went to Houston this week to visit Parker's family. We had a great time hanging out with CC, Papa Lon, Katie, and Quinn.

Monday night, Kate had her first corn on the cob...and she loved it.

Big Daddy Bill and Opal came over Monday night to see Kate. Kate wouldn't get in the picture, but here is Opal and Quinn.

Roadtrip!

We're going on a ROADTRIP!

Oh, how that has such a different meaning these days! Roadtrips used to mean a fun, laid-back ride in the car with a coke & m&ms, fun music, and great conversation with Parker or the girls. Not anymore. Kate and I took a roadtrip to Houston this week. Now I pack the car with sippy cups, snack traps, yogos, goldfish, and string cheese. Instead of listening to my music, we listen to Kate's dvds or better yet, I sing songs like "The wheels on the bus" and "Old McDonald" over and over and over. And now my conversations literally go like this...
Kate: Cow
Me: Where?
Kate: Uh-oh, bye bye cow
(repeat 15 times)

Kate: wa, wa, wa, juice, juice, pees (please)
Kate wants her water/juice
Kate: uh, oh juice
Juice is now on the floor
Kate: mammie (lambie)
Kate wants lambie
Kate: off, off, off, shuse (shoes)
Kate wants her shoes off
Kate: veesh??? (goldfish)
Kate wants goldfish

Kate: hurse
Me: Where?
Kate: uh, oh, bye bye hurse

I know it is only going to get crazier as we add another little one to the roadtrip mix. So I leave this post with a picture of my roadtrip buddy watching her dvd. (Thanks Lindsay!!!).

World Cup Watching Party

Today was the USA's first game in the 2010 World Cup. Our friend Justin works for FCDallas (our soccer team). They had a huge watch party for the USA vs. England game down at Victory Park. Justin was in charge of the whole event and hooked us up with VIP passes.

Our watch party pass...

The watch party was outside in Victory Park on the big screens, but the VIP party was inside the News8 studio. We got there early so Kate and Brady had some news to report at the channel 8 news desk....
anchorman Pierce...

all the kids got these soccer horns. they are a little too young to know how to really blow into these, so they quickly became more fun to use as golf clubs, or bats.
Kate trying to blow the horn...

snack time in front of the news desk...

Kate and Pierce...

Justin, the awesome party planner, and Pierce...

our little soccer fan in her USA garb...
(the FCDallas head coach gave her the pin on her shirt)...

We had fun cheering USA to a tie!!!
