18 months...

Friday, March 26 Kate turned 18 months old. I LOVE this age. Her personality is showing more and more everyday. She is starting to talk more and repeat words we say. Some of my favorite words right now are...
"bye-per" (diaper)
"bapes" (grapes)
"bay-bee" (baby)
"oo-ple" (apple)
"shzz" (shoes)
"cheeeez" (cheese)
"plez" (please)
"tank yu" (thank you)
"belp" (help)
And I love how when Parker comes in from work she runs to the door saying "daa-dee."

It is so fun to watch her play. The things she does and comes up with are funny. I was sitting in the glider watching her play...she ran out of the room, found both her sippy cups of water and came back with them and sat on the window sill in her room. Oh how we love this happy, happy little girl!!!

We don't go to the dr. for her 18 month appt for another week or so. I will put her stats up after we go.

On another note, Kate is going to be a...

I am 11 weeks pregnant! We are so excited. Our due date is October 16.

The Village at Allen

This afternoon we met a few friends at an outdoor play area in Allen. The weather was perfect to be outside. Here are some pictures from our outing...

Kate on the train caboose...

Kate and Anna on the caboose, watching Harper come up the stairs (you can see Harper's piggie in the corner)...
They had miniature shops for the kids to run in and out of. Kate is looking in one of the shop windows...
Just running around...
Looking in another window...
Harper peeking in too...
In the gas station...
They also had a Texas-shaped maze...Here are Kate and Harper in a dead-end...
Kate loved running through the maze...
All the girlies on the couch...Harper, Kate, Anna and Adaline...

While I was running Kate's bathwater tonight, she put all these links on her arm like bracelets. She was so proud of herself...

Hamburglar

We had a pretty lazy Sunday. We were ready to go to church when we discovered at least 5 inches of snow outside and an icy driveway. So we just stayed home and watched basketball all day. After Kate's nap I was in her room and Parker was watching basketball. Kate was running back and forth. I hear Parker screaming in the other room...at a buzzer beater...so I run in there to watch the replay. As he is showing me the last 2o seconds of the Michigan St. game, I hear an unfamiliar sound in another room. I walk in the kitchen to see the rest of my hamburger from lunch in Kate's mouth. I yell, "Kate, NOOOO!" Parker said my screaming made it sound like she was about to nose-dive off the kitchen counter, but I feel like it was justified. Kate had a burger in her mouth that had been in the trash for at least 4 hours...sick. The more impressive part is she had taken it out of the wrapping. We were trying to be really stern with her because she knows she is not supposed to touch the trash can, but we both had to keep turning away and laughing. She really dug that burger out of the wrapper from the trash and was trying to eat it.

Quinn and Kate

This morning Katie dropped Quinn off for about an so "Mrs. Schleider" could be in her 1st grade class picture. Everything was going great until Katie left and I had to take Quinn out of his carseat...let's just say Kate started crying CROCODILE TEARS! Jealous much?

Well, I got Kate calmed down with a little help from paci and lambie (which typically are not allowed out of the crib). Here are a few pics from our morning. Kate ended up doing great and playing by herself while I tried to get Quinn to take a nap.

Sweet cousins...
Quinn...almost 3 weeks old
Kate just looking at him...still unsure what is going on.
Bailey watching over Quinn (the cone is back on because she started scratching her face again)
Kate reading while I tried getting Quinn to sleep...

On another note, it's official...Kate is going to have curly/wavy hair. The longer it gets, the more the curls are showing...

Baby Dolls and BoBos

Kate has just discovered baby dolls. My mom brought my old baby doll "Missy" last time she came. It is so cute watching Kate play with her.

Putting her dolls in the shopping cart...

"Rock, Rock"...Rocking her baby...
Giving kisses...
While I was getting ready this morning, Kate was playing with her Noah's Ark...she took them all out and lined them up. So cute!

And finally, Kate is fixated on "bobos." If she has one, she always talks about it and wants to put medicine on it. She has just entered the "i want to do it by myself" phase. So this morning I let her try to put the bobo medicine on herself...
Not too bad!

Sleeping Beauty

Kate usually takes great Sunday afternoon naps (like her momma). Yesterday, we put her down at 1 PM and at 4 PM hadn't heard a peep. We had somewhere we were going so I went in to check on her and she was OUT! I thought she looked so cute I had to take a picture. I love how 99% of the time she sleeps in this corner of the crib with her head nuzzled in the corner. And I love how she is always holding on to her "lambie." What a sweet girl!

Bubbles

We spent some time last week playing with bubbles outside. I was trying to teach Kate to touch them, but she was happy just standing there watching them...

She also liked closing her eyes and letting them touch her face...
